SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, May 1, 2018 – With early voting for the June 5 election starting in just a few days, the Department of Elections encourages all voters to check their registration status.

Checking registration takes only minutes using the Voter Registration Status Lookup tool on the Department’s website – sfelections.org. Voters input their house number, ZIP code, and birth date to access their voter registration details.

San Francisco voters can ensure that the information in their voter registration records is accurate and reflects their current preferences, such as language preference for translated election materials and whether they vote at a polling place or by mail. The tool also provides information about voting options, key dates and deadlines, and useful links to the sample ballot, a vote-by-mail ballot application, and a tool to check the location of the voter’s assigned polling place.

Registering or updating registration information can be done at registertovote.ca.gov. Online registration is an option for all citizens who live in California.

The Department of Elections encourages those who wish to register or update their registration to do so as soon as possible, so that they will receive state and local materials related to this important election.
