For Immediate Release
SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, September 18, 2018 – Next Tuesday, September 25, is National Voter Registration Day.

To bring attention to voter registration and voting, on September 25, members of the Department of Elections’ Outreach Team will travel to several neighborhoods throughout the City in a “cable car” bus and host registration and voter education pop-up events.

The team will engage San Francisco residents by providing registration opportunities and information about the upcoming November 6 election and Department services. The team will also spotlight the opportunity to serve as a poll worker and provide application materials to those who are interested in assisting their community on Election Day.

The Voter Outreach Team will make scheduled stops at these locations (times of stops are approximate):

  • San Francisco Public Library – Parkside Branch 10:30 a.m.
  • City College of San Francisco – Phelan Campus 11:30 a.m.
  • San Francisco Public Library – Excelsior Branch 12:45 p.m.
  • City College of San Francisco – Southeast Campus 2 p.m.
  • Mission High School –  3:15 p.m.
  • San Francisco Public Library – Bayview Linda Brooks-Burton Branch 4:30 p.m.

For the November 6 election, the Department’s focus is to encourage San Franciscans to take part in the election process by emphasizing the personal nature of voting and by highlighting the many resources that help voters participate in the election in ways that fit into their lives comfortably.

The Department’s outreach theme “Your City. Your Choice.” plays a prominent role in materials developed for the November 6 election. This theme emphasizes both the accessibility of the election process to residents and the empowering, equitable nature of voting itself. The theme also highlights the Department’s commitment to providing accurate, useful information so that City residents may understand and benefit from the particular services most useful to them.
