SAN FRANCISCO, Wednesday, March 16, 2022 – In-person voting in the April 19, 2022, Special General Election begins on Monday, March 21 at the Voting Center in City Hall.

Between Monday, March 21 and Monday, April 18, the Voting Center on the ground floor of City Hall will be open weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Voting Center will also be open on the two weekends before the election, April 9-10 and April 16-17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Election Day, Tuesday, April 19, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“All eligible San Franciscans residing in the City’s Assembly District 17 may visit the Voting Center to register to vote, update their registration information, use accessible voting equipment, or return their mailed ballots,” said Director John Arntz. “Later this week, the Department expects to deliver nearly 290,000 vote-by-mail ballot packets to the United States Postal Service for distribution to registered voters in Assembly District 17.”

To help voters check their Assembly District to find out if they are eligible to vote in the April 19 election, the Department has launched a new online tool, available from the Department’s homepage and at:   sfelections.org/ADLookup

When using this tool, voters can simply enter their address to confirm their Assembly District and learn about their voting options. Voters can also check their Assembly District by contacting the Department or viewing a map of Assembly Districts available at: sfelections.sfgov.org/maps

To help voters prepare to cast their ballots, the Department has begun transmitting Voter Information Pamphlets to voters registered in Assembly District 17 and expects to complete these mail and email deliveries by the end of the week. Inside the Voter Information Pamphlet, voters will find a sample ballot, as well as information about candidates, voting options, and more. On the back cover of the Pamphlet, voters will find the address of their assigned polling place.

Voters may also access the pamphlet online by clicking “I WANT TO …Read my voter pamphlet” on the homepage of sfelections.org. Currently the pamphlet is posted in PDF, HTML, and XML formats with an audio MP3 format following shortly.

The Department of Elections also offers the pamphlet in accessible formats, including large print and audio on USB flash drive, National Library Service (NLC) cartridge, or compact disc (CD). Voters may request one of these formats by calling (415) 554-4375, TTY (415) 554-4386, or emailing sfvote@sfelections.org.

All voters receive a pamphlet in English. Those who have requested election materials in Chinese, Spanish, or Filipino will also receive a copy in their preferred language. Voters may request translated election materials when registering or any time at sfelections.org/language or by calling (415) 554-4375

Further information about the April 19 election is available at sfelections.org or by contacting the Department of Elections at (415) 554-4375.
