November 3 Consolidated General Election Results Report #10 and Ballot Processing Update

SAN FRANCISCO, Monday, November 9, 2020 – The San Francisco Department of Elections issued the 10th preliminary election results report of votes cast for the November 3, 2020, Consolidated General Election.

Today’s report includes 3,316 votes since yesterday’s results report. 

The estimated total number of remaining ballots to process is 2,200 which consists of approximately 400 provisional ballots, nearly 150 conditional voter registration ballots, and approximately 1,600 vote-by-mail ballots.  

The United States Postal Service delivered 369 vote-by-mail ballots today with valid postmarks dated on or before Election Day that the Department will process. Also, the Department added nearly 250 vote-by-mail ballots and 249 faxed ballots from overseas and military voters that required further review and are now included in the total number of ballots to process.

These totals are based on preliminary counts of ballots and will change as the Department processes ballots.  The Department will issue daily updates on the number of ballots remaining for processing and counting. 

Department personnel will work until 5 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, to review and process vote-by-mail, provisional, and conditional voter registration ballots.  The Department will close in observance of Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11, and will not process ballots or issue preliminary results reports.

For any days the Department processes ballots, the Department will release updated results reports, including weekends, at 4 p.m. and will post preliminary results reports on the Department’s website: sfelections.sfgov.org/november-3-2020-election-results-summary

When releasing results, the Department also will post summary results, as well as results according to precincts, neighborhoods, and Supervisorial districts, and in multiple formats.
