November 3 Consolidated General Election Results Report #8 and Ballot Processing Update

SAN FRANCISCO, Saturday, November 7, 2020 – The San Francisco Department of Elections issued the eighth preliminary election results report of votes cast for the November 3, 2020, Consolidated General Election.

Today’s report includes 18,209 votes since yesterday’s results report. 

The estimated total number of remaining ballots to process is 10,000, which consists of approximately 4,200 provisional ballots, nearly 1,700 conditional voter registration ballots, and approximately 4,400 vote-by-mail ballots.  

The United State Postal Service delivered 22 ballots today, of which 6 were postmarked on or before Election Day and will be counted. 

Today’s results report includes votes from the provisional ballots. The total number of provisional ballots received from all polling places is nearly 6,600.

These totals are based on preliminary counts of ballots and will change as the Department processes ballots over the next several weeks. The Department will issue daily updates on the number of ballots remaining for processing and counting.  

Department personnel will work until 5 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for the next several days to review and process vote-by-mail, provisional, and conditional voter registration ballots.  

The Department will release updated results reports, including weekends, at 4 p.m. on days the Department tabulates votes and will post results reports on the Department’s website:

When releasing results, the Department also will post summary results, as well as results according to precincts, neighborhoods, and Supervisorial districts, and in multiple formats.
