November 3 Consolidated General Election Results Report #9 and Ballot Processing Update

SAN FRANCISCO, Sunday, November 8, 2020 – The San Francisco Department of Elections issued the ninth preliminary election results report of votes cast for the November 3, 2020, Consolidated General Election.

Today’s report includes 6,176 votes since yesterday’s results report. 

The estimated total number of remaining ballots to process is 4,500 which consists of approximately 2,000 provisional ballots, nearly 500 conditional voter registration ballots, and approximately 2,000 vote-by-mail ballots.  

These totals are based on preliminary counts of ballots and will change as the Department processes ballots over the next several weeks. The Department will issue daily updates on the number of ballots remaining for processing and counting. 

Department personnel will work until 5 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, November 9 and 10, to review and process vote-by-mail, provisional, and conditional voter registration ballots. The Department will be closed in observance of Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11, and will not process ballots or issue preliminary results reports.

When releasing results, the Department also will post summary results, as well as results according to precincts, neighborhoods, and Supervisorial districts, and in multiple formats.
