Preliminary Election Results: Report #16 and Ballot Processing Update.

SAN FRANCISCO, Monday, November 19, 2018 – Today the San Francisco Department of Elections issued the 16th preliminary election results report of votes cast for the November 6, 2018, Consolidated General Election. 

Today’s preliminary report includes results from approximately 1,200 ballots.  The Department must still process approximately 2,500 ballots.  The Department must also process any valid vote-by-mail ballots received from other counties as they arrive.

Today’s report includes votes from a few vote-by-mail ballots and approximately 1,200 provisional ballots and ballots cast by conditional voter registrants.

Ballot Processing Update

The Department continues to prepare approximately 2,500 ballots for counting.  This total includes over 2,200 vote-by-mail ballots and approximately 300 provisional ballots and ballots cast at the City Hall Voting Center by conditional voter registrants.  

One-Percent Manual Tally

The manual tally began today and will continue each day from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Department’s warehouse on Pier 48 and will proceed during work hours, excluding the holiday and weekends, until all chosen precincts are tallied.

Ballot processing and the canvass are open to public observation, in person, at the Department’s office in City Hall and the Department’s warehouse on Pier 48, and online, at sfelections.sfgov.org/observe-election-process.
