Preliminary Election Results: Report #17 and Ballot Processing Update

SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 – Today the San Francisco Department of Elections issued the 17th preliminary election results report of votes cast for the November 6, 2018, Consolidated General Election. 

Today’s preliminary report includes results from the remaining 300 provisional ballots and 200 vote-by-mail ballots.  The other outstanding ballot cards processed and reported did not include the contest for Governor which is the “counter card” on which the voting system bases turnout.   

The Department will next issue results reports during the week of November 26.

One-Percent Manual Tally

The one percent manual tally continues each day from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Department’s warehouse on Pier 48 and will proceed each day, excluding the holiday and weekends, until all chosen precincts are tallied.

Ballot processing and the canvass are open to public observation, in person, at the Department’s office in City Hall and the Department’s warehouse on Pier 48, and online, at sfelections.sfgov.org/observe-election-process.
