SAN FRANCISCO, October 25, 2005– Tuesday, November 1st is the last day a registered voter can request an absentee ballot to be mailed to them for the November 8, 2005 Consolidated Special Statewide Election. Any request for a mailed ballot must be received by the Department of Elections no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1st.

Voters may request an absentee ballot in three different ways. Log on to the Departments website at www.sfgov.org/elections and use the pull-down menu entitled Voting ; complete the application found on the back cover of the Voter Information Pamphlet; or, write a letter or postcard to the Department of Elections. This letter must include the voter's signature, printed name, birth date, home address and mailing address, and the name and date of the election.

Voters should return their completed request in-person to the Department of Elections, located in Room 48 of City Hall or by fax to (415) 554-4372.
