Today’s preliminary results report includes 22,535 vote-by-mail ballots that were counted since yesterday’s results report. Overall, today’s preliminary results report includes votes from nearly 112,000 ballot cards since San Francisco voters received a five-card ballot.

  • Provisional ballots (cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center): 9,000

Department personnel will process and count ballots until 8 p.m. tonight and will maintain the same schedule, 7 a.m. - 8 p.m., on Tuesday, November 15.

All election results reports along with the number of remaining ballots to count are available at:  sfelections.sfgov.org/november-8-2022-election-results-summary. When releasing results, the Department posts results summary, as well as detailed reports, including the Statement of the Vote, which lists results data by precinct, district, and neighborhood, the ranked-choice voting reports (in PDF and Excel), and the Cast Vote Record, which contains raw data of votes cast in the election (in JSON).

The Department will issue the next preliminary results report at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15. At that time, Director John Arntz will be available to respond to questions from members of the public and the media outside of Room 48 in City Hall.

The Official Canvass -- an audit of the election to ensure the accuracy and validity of results – continues at the Department’s warehouse on Pier 31. On Friday, November 18 at 9 a.m., Director John Arntz will conduct the random selection of ballots for manual tally in the Department’s office in City Hall, Room 48. On Saturday, November 19 at 8:30 a.m., Department staff will begin manual tally at the Department’s warehouse on Pier 31.
