For Immediate Release
SAN FRANCISCO, Wednesday, June 8, 2022 – The San Francisco Department of Elections must still review and process approximately 100,000 ballots cast in the June 7, 2022, Consolidated Statewide Direct Primary Election.

The estimated number of vote-by-mail ballots to process is 95,000.  The estimated number of provisional and conditional voter registration ballots to process is 4,000.

This approximate total is based on the preliminary count of ballots received on Election Day and will change as the Department processes ballots over the next several days. The Department will issue daily updates on the number of ballots remaining for processing and counting.

The Department expects to receive approximately 13,500 vote-by-mail ballots today from the United States Postal Service (USPS).  The Department must process any ballots postmarked on or before Election Day, and received through Tuesday, June 14, from the USPS or a bona fide private mail delivery company.

The Department will next issue preliminary results reports on Thursday, June 9, at 4 p.m.

Nearly all ballots received before Election Day have been processed and reported.  The Department will begin today to prepare ballots received on Election Day for processing.

All results reports are posted on the Department’s website: sfelections.org.  When releasing results, the Department posts summary results, as well as results according to precincts, neighborhoods, and Supervisorial districts, and in multiple formats.
