November 3, 2020, Consolidated General Election: Extension of Candidate Nomination Deadline for San Francisco Board of Supervisors, District 1
For Immediate Release
SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, June 9, 2020 – According to state elections law, the deadline is extended to June 15 for candidates to file nomination papers for the District 1 office for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. The reason for this extension is the incumbent did not file nomination papers by the June 9 nomination deadline
When incumbents do not file nomination papers, state elections law requires the nomination deadline to be extended five days. Since the fifth day after the June 9 deadline is a Sunday, the deadline moves to the next business day, or Monday, June 15.
Candidates can obtain nomination documents from the Department by emailing sfvote@sfgov.org, or calling 415 554 4375. When filing, candidates must contact the Department to schedule an appointment.
