For Immediate Release
SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, June 14, 2022 – Today the San Francisco Department of Elections issued the ninth preliminary election results report of votes cast in the June 7, 2022, Consolidated Statewide Direct Primary Election.

Today’s report includes 960 ballots from vote-by-mail and provisional ballots most of which were received on Election Day and processed since the previous preliminary results report that the Department issued on June 12.

Today the Department received 26 vote-by-mail ballots from the United States Postal Service (USPS).  After review, the Department determined eight return envelopes were postmarked on or before Election Day and eligible for processing. Today is the last day during which the Department can receive vote-by-mail ballots with valid postmarks from the USPS and count such ballots. The Department will visit the USPS’ facilities tonight before midnight to receive any ballots that were not included in today’s mail delivery to City Hall.

The Department has nearly completed the canvass of materials returned from the polling places.  Personnel will conduct the 1% manual tallies of ballots on Thursday, June 16, starting at 8 a.m. in the Department’s warehouse on Pier 31.  After the manual tallies are completed, the Department will begin preparing election materials for retention.

The Department will issue the next preliminary results report on June 16 at 4 p.m.  All results reports are posted on the Department’s website: sfelections.org/results

When releasing results, the Department will also post summary results, as well as results according to precincts, neighborhoods, and Supervisorial districts, and in multiple formats.
