Tuesday, October 30, is the Last Day to Request a Vote-by-Mail Ballot in the November 6 Election

SAN FRANCISCO, Friday, October 26, 2018 –The Department of Elections reminds voters who have not already applied but wish to vote by mail to submit their requests to ensure there is enough time for postal delivery of their ballots.

There are several ways to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot for the upcoming election:

  • Call the Department of Elections at (415) 554-4375
  • Complete an online application at sfelections.org/vbm
  • Complete and submit the form found on the back cover of the Voter Information Pamphlet

Those who wish to receive a ballot in the mail for all future elections may print, complete, and submit the form available on sfelections.org.

The Department of Elections reminds voters who already vote by mail to return their ballots on time. Ballots that are returned by mail must be postmarked before or on Election Day, November 6, and received by the Department of Elections no later than Friday, November 9.Ballots that are personally delivered to the City Hall Voting Center, the Ballot Drop-off Stations at City Hall, or polling places must be returned no later than the close of polls at 8 p.m. on Election Day.
