Today Is the Candidate Nomination Deadline for the November 6, 2012 Consolidated General Election

SAN FRANCISCO, Friday, August 10, 2012 – The nomination period ends at 5 p.m. today for the following local offices: 

The Department of Elections is informing voters that the tear-off stubs of the ballots for the June 5, 2012 Presidential Primary Election were incorrectly formatted to read “American Independent Party” regardless of a voter’s actual party preference. The ballots themselves are printed with the CORRECT party information despite the formatting of the stub. The Department of Elections wants to inform all voters that they will receive the correct primary ballot, and that every vote will count.
