SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, February 25, 2016 – The Department of Elections announces a workshop that will focus on the process for submitting arguments in favor of or against local ballot measures to be voted on in the June 7 election. 

The workshop will be hosted by Elections personnel on Thursday, March 3, 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Department’s office in City Hall, Room 48. 

June 7, 2016, Consolidated Presidential Primary Election: Ballot Simplification Committee Meetings Begin on February 29

SAN FRANCISCO, Monday, February 22, 2016 – Beginning Monday, February 29, the Ballot Simplification Committee will conduct public meetings to prepare a fair and impartial summary of each local ballot measure for the June 7 election.

SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, February 16, 2016 – Yesterday marked the opening of the period during which candidates planning to run for voter-nominated or judicial offices in the June 7, 2016, election may obtain and file nomination papers at the Department of Elections. 

Candidates must submit all nomination documents, signatures, and fees by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 11, to appear on the ballot.

SAN FRANCISCO, Monday, January 4, 2016 – January 1, 2016 has marked the opening of the period during which candidates planning to run for voter nominated or judicial offices in the June 7, 2016, election, may submit voter signatures to reduce their filing fees. January 1 is also the start of the nomination period for candidates running for County Central Committee/County Council.

San Francisco Department of Elections – Results of the November 3, 2015, Consolidated Municipal Election Are Certified

SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, November 19 – The Department of Elections has certified the results of the November 3, 2015, Consolidated Municipal Election. 

After concluding the official canvass of election results, the Department of Elections certified the number of votes cast for each candidate, and for and against each measure at each precinct, and, in total. 

The Department of Elections applied a SHA-512 cryptographic function to all results reports associated with this election.

San Francisco Department of Elections – Updated Preliminary Results for the November 3 Election Have Been Released Today at 4 p.m.

SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, November 12, 2015 – At present, the San Francisco Department of Elections must still process no more than a few hundred cards from vote-by-mail and provisional ballots that voters dropped off or cast at the polling places on Election Day. 

Today’s results reports include the ballot cards from approximately 1,800 provisional ballots. Today’s results reports also includes 1,546 vote-by-mail ballot cards that were re-entered into the tallying process after a manual review due to the cards containing undervotes, overvotes, or write-in votes.
