SAN FRANCISCO, Friday, December 6, 2019 – The Department of Elections has launched a March 2020 Presidential Primary Ballot tool to inform voters about steps they may need to take to receive the ballots with their preferred presidential candidates for the March 3, 2020, Consolidated Presidential Primary Election.

SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 – Today the San Francisco Department of Elections certified the final election results for the November 5, 2019, Consolidated Municipal Election. 

The turnout for this election was 41.64%, and involved 206,122 of the City’s 495,050 voters.

SAN FRANCISCO, Friday, November 22, 2019 – On March 3, California will hold a Consolidated Presidential Primary Election. Under California’s “Top Two Primary” system, voters may vote for candidates of their choice in congressional and state contests, regardless of voters’ political party preference selected at registration. However, voters’ party preference determines which presidential candidates, if any, will appear on their ballots.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sunday, November 10, 2019 – The San Francisco Department of Elections (Department) issued the ninth preliminary election results report of votes cast for the November 5, 2019, Consolidated Municipal Election.

The Department has mostly completed the processing of ballots.  If the Department issues additional results reports prior to the certification of the election, the Department will post a notice on its website.

SAN FRANCISCO, Saturday, November 9, 2019 – The San Francisco Department of Elections (Department) issued the eighth preliminary election results report of votes cast for the November 5, 2019, Consolidated Municipal Election.

The Department must still process approximately 1,200 ballots. The votes reported in today’s reports consist of approximately 1,400 vote-by-mail ballots and approximately 12,600 provisional ballots.

San Francisco Department of Elections will Randomly Select Ballots for Manual Tally on Wednesday, November 13, 11 a.m.

SAN FRANCISCO, Friday, November 8, 2019 – The Department of Elections will randomly select ballots for manual tally to verify the accuracy of the voting system.  The selection of ballots will occur on November 13, 11 a.m., in the Department’s office located in City Hall Room 48, and is open to public observation.
