SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, August 11, 2016 – On Monday, August 15, at 11 a.m., the Department of Elections will select and assign a letter to identify each local measure that will appear on the ballot for the November 8, 2016, Consolidated General Election.

SAN FRANCISCO, Wednesday, August 10, 2016 – The nomination period closes this Friday for candidates running for the offices of Board of Education, Community College Board, and BART Director (Districts 7 and 9), in the November 8, 2016, election.

Candidates must submit all nomination documents, signatures, and fees to the Department of Elections by 5 p.m. on Friday, August 12, to appear on the ballot.

November 8, 2016, Consolidated General Election: Invitation to Workshop for Submitters of Ballot Arguments

SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, July 26, 2016 – The Department of Elections announces a workshop that will focus on the process for submitting arguments in favor of or against local ballot measures to be voted on in the November 8 election.

Elections personnel will host the workshop on Wednesday, August 3, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., at the Department’s office in City Hall, Room 48.

SAN FRANCISCO, Monday, July 18, 2016 – Today has marked the opening of the period during which  candidates planning to run for Board of Education, Community College Board, and BART Director (Districts 7 and 9), in the November 8, 2016, election, may obtain and file nomination documents. All nomination documents and fees must be filed no later than August 12 at 5 p.m.

SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, June 21, 2016 – The San Francisco Department of Elections today tabulated approximately 1,500 ballot cards.  Today’s report consists mostly of provisional ballots cards.  Of the cards tabulated for today’s report, 818 were Card 1, which is the card from which turnout is based.

The 1% manual will continue daily at the Department’s warehouse on Pier 48, Shed B, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., until the tally is completed.

SAN FRANCISCO, Monday, June 20, 2016 – The San Francisco Department of Elections today tabulated 4,068 ballots, which are included in today’s results report.  The Department has approximately 1,500 ballots to tabulate.

Today’s results report includes votes from nearly 3,600 provisional ballots and the remainder from vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots.

SAN FRANCISCO, Friday, June 17, 2016 – The San Francisco Department of Elections must still prepare for counting approximately 5,300 ballots cast in the June 7 Consolidated Presidential Primary Election.

Today’s results report includes votes from the 3,140 ballots tabulated since yesterday’s report.  Today’s report is comprised of votes from nearly 2,800 provisional ballots and the remainder is from vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots.
