SAN FRANCISCO, Friday, April 29, 2016 – This month, the Department of Elections launched its pilot High School Student Ambassador Program, enlisting students from eight San Francisco high schools to partner with the Department during High School Voter Education Weeks to promote civic education, voter registration, and opportunities to serve the community by volunteering as a poll worker.

SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, April 28, 2016 – Logic and Accuracy testing of all voting equipment to be used in the June 7 election will begin on Tuesday, May 3. Members of the public are welcome to observe the testing, either in person or via live streaming on sfelections.org/live.

SAN FRANCISCO, Monday, April 18, 2016 – In less than a month, on Monday, May 9, the Department of Elections will open the City Hall Voting Center, where anyone registered to vote in San Francisco can cast a ballot during the 29-day voting period prior to and on Election Day, June 7.

SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, April 14, 2016 – The Department of Elections reminds San Francisco voters that Monday, April 18, is the last day to request to stop mail delivery of their Voter Information Pamphlet in time for the June 7 election and read the pamphlet online instead.

SAN FRANCISCO, Tuesday, April 12, 2016– The Department of Elections invites San Franciscans to volunteer as poll workers on Tuesday, June 7.  For the upcoming election, the Department will recruit, train, and assign nearly 2,300 individuals to assist voters in every part of the voting process at 576 polling places throughout the City.

SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, April 7, 2016 – On June 7, California will hold its Presidential Primary Election. Under California’s primary system, any voter may vote for any candidate in congressional and state contests, regardless of the voter’s or the candidate’s party preference. But a voter’s party preference–or lack thereof–still matters in presidential races.
