SAN FRANCISCO, October 7, 2013 – Early voting opens today at the Department of Elections in City Hall. The Department has also begun sending out more than 200,000 vote-by-mail ballots, and has completed the mailing of Voter Information Pamphlets to currently registered voters.

Postmarks Will Not Count: Department of Elections Must Receive Vote-by-Mail Ballots by 8 p.m. on Election Day

SAN FRANCISCO, October 31, 2013 – The San Francisco Department of Elections must receive vote-by-mail ballots before the close of polls at 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5 for those ballots to be counted. Vote-by-mail envelopes that are postmarked before 8 p.m. but which arrive to the Department after this time cannot be counted.
